Definitely a YA book. Parts were a touch slow and parts were a bit rushed through so the pacing is uneven. Includes the typical YA insta-love-romance. The writing is ok; it's not great but it's not terrible either. The first few chapters could use some polishing. I almost didn't continue reading. Perfect series for those who enjoyed the White Aura series.Personally I would rate it at 3 stars because it lacks enough to earn four stars. "It's ok" describes this book where as "I like it" is rather generous. I didn't like it enough to want to read the rest of the series. Part of me, in the back of my mind, felt reminded of Buffy from her TV series.

Scornful Sadie is the first book I've read by Felicia Tatum. I went into this book not having any clue what it was about or how Felicia's writing style was.
Oh my goodness!! By the 1st couple of pages I was drawn in and hooked! I finished the book within hours begging for more!!
The ending had me dumbfounded. What a cliffhanger! 😮
If you like vampires and sorcerers and fae's and dark realms etc with a great story intertwined into one you HAVE to check out this book!!!
I'm off to read the next book in the Dark Sorceress Trilogy series called
Straying Sadie.

That was a cliffhanger. It was interesting. I hope Sadie and Aiden really get together. Sadie is one powerful witch.
Quite a neat little story, has some details that imply a prequel. Also leads into a sequel. The overall story is reasonably well developed, I suspect aimed at a younger group of readers as some items in the story are a little too fantastical. Still a nice distractional read.
Not much substance or originality of story in the beginning, however things started to get better towards the end. Looking forward to the next book to be more exciting.
This book was a good start to the Trilogy. The author ended the story on a good note.....meaning it ended with enough of a cliff hanger that I'm interested in continuing the series. I rated this book as having 'some violence' and 'some sexual content' but my rating is misleading. It really depends on the age of the reader. I'm an adult so I'd say the sexual content and violence was low level. My rating is targeted for those who are pre adolescent. Which is also why this story received a 4 star instead of 5 star. It was a little too tame for my taste in the violence and sexual content area. Looking forward to reading other books by this author.
Sadie Tabors gets her own series! Yay! So, even though you can read this series without having read the White Aura series, I highly recommend reading it first. Without some of the background information you can feel as though you are missing important information for the events going on but the author gives enough background to enjoy Sadie’s story as it goes.
I love all of these characters, especially Tessi and Mel, they really keep Sadie grounded in her humanity. I know they have to play an integral part in her story to come. Scornful Sadie has the formula of a great paranormal series that will sometimes leave you with a familiar feeling while bringing a uniqueness to the genre. This is a quick little book. It is an easy read so I'd say its more of a YA book.
I enjoyed reading it but felt it was a bit simplistic. And quite a few things didn't make sense.
Sadie is a sorcerer. She comes from a family of sorcerers. All sorts of creatures about in this book. Vamipres, Fae, unbound-or ones with a dual psyche etc.
Sadie lost her brother, among others, fighting a bad sorcerer that was part of the 'Counsel'. After all is said and done, she can't handle it and takes off from her home.
This is what happens afterwards.
Sadie finds out she's one of the most powerful sorcerers around. (sorceress?) And wanted by some other very powerful sorcerers that have now been resurrected.
I felt like some of the things in the book had no continuity. Like going to the Counsel's main building that is supposed to be hidden, that her Grandmother is now the leader of the Council. So how do the bad sorcerers find it?
Other than that, things a younger person probably wouldn't notice or care about, the book was OK.
